We were playing and staying at a resort called Zest Big Beach near Pondicherry, right on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Just before we got to the resort we drove through this village, where the road was rutted and muddy and the houses were mostly thatched huts. Then we went round a corner and onto a paved drive for about half a mile, through some gates and into this luxurious resort. The contrast was overwhealming.
